We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Quality North America to lead out quality and food safety functions. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee and develop a dedicated team, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This is a full-time onsite role working from our Cartersville, GA manufacturing facility.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing quality team, fostering a culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee personnel planning, performance management, and professional development in alignment with HR and organizational goals.
- Manage quality department resources—people, budgets, and materials—ensuring alignment with business objectives and responding to deviations as needed.
- Drive standardization and continuous optimization of quality processes, organizational structures, and systems.
- Ensure effective communication within the quality function and across departments to support seamless operations.
- Enforce internal and regulatory compliance with hygiene, HACCP, food safety, occupational safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee complaints and deviation management, focusing on preventive actions and root cause resolution.
- Set and monitor quality performance indicators (e.g., OEDM targets), ensuring alignment with company-wide standards.
- Lead preparation for customer audits and regulatory inspections, including follow-up and implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage customer complaints to resolution with a goal of achieving zero-defect outcomes.
- Make decisions on the use of off-spec materials and production batches in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Define and uphold quality standards across the organization.
- Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and key customers.
- Support quality-related projects and strategic initiatives, including determining shelf-life and microbiological standards.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related field
- 5-8 years of professional experience within the food and/or ingredient industry, and at least 3 years in a management position
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking
- Diplomatic negotiating skills
- Ability to travel 20-30% domestically
- CSP and Food Defense certification preferred
- Ability to interpret State and Federal regulations and apply to facility to ensure compliance
- Ability to write regulatory reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
