Summary/Objective
As a Utilities Technician, you play a vital role in keeping the facility powered, protected, and performing at its best by maintaining all key utility systems and support operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform repair and preventive maintenance work on utility services equipment including but not limited to chillers, overhead doors, air handlers, boiler equipment and steam devices.
- Recommend and participate in continuous improvements for the plant utility systems.
- Ensure timely communication of information within the department and affected personnel.
- Maintain repair records with the company's data management systems (SAP, Microsoft Office Products, and future additions).
- Implement processes to increase energy efficiency and support conservation initiatives.
- Perform necessary maintenance work and recurring inspections with authorized specialized companies as needed.
- Engage with outside service companies as a point of contact.
- Support the ordering and specifications of necessary utility equipment and repair parts.
- Perform inspections of power facilities on company property.
- Implement and maintain OEM standards (e.g. 5S; standardized work), notifying manager of unresolved deviations.
- Execute preventative, corrective, and responsive work orders.
- Provide ownership and accountability of facility items including Roof top hvac systems, Chillers, backup generator, and boiler systems.
Your Profile
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and utilities maintenance experience
- MUST HAVE 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with proven mechanical and electrical skills related to boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, overhead doors. 480v motors and 277v lighting.
