Summary/Objective

The Market Segment Manager – Alcoholic Beverages (AB) is responsible for the management of the North American (US and Canada) (NA) regional Cider, Wine, Spirits, and Brewery market segment (category). This role sets the strategy for Alcoholic Beverages within NA and executes detailed plans to drive profitable growth across the regional market segment.

Essential Functions

  1. Understand regional market structure (TTB in US, Provincial & Territorial Liquor Boards in Canada), market trends and customers' needs to identify new market opportunities and associated offerings for the LSN market segment on a regional level.
  2. Build a strong pipeline of opportunities which align with regional market trends and customers' needs with impact on Gross Sales growth development
  3. Prepare and monitor marketing briefings for relevant growth opportunities in the market segment incl. major commercial and market relevant elements (Business case, value proposition, target customers, target application, etc.).
  4. Work with Application (product developers for customer samples) and Business Units (BU) (product managers) to support their development of B2C/B2B product portfolios, and work with local Sales to successfully move to commercialization phase and execution.
  5. Establish and maintain a successful market segment plan to achieve required sales value and margins.
  6. Responsible for financial results of the market segment business on yearly basis; Balance short and medium term market segment initiatives with existing applications, and improving and actively driving customer opportunities and pipeline conversion.
  7. Identify regional market needs and develop market briefings for business opportunities in close cooperation with BU´s, Application and Sales
  8. Creation of selling tools for sales, including customer facing presentations.
  9. Ensure ongoing NA market segment profitability analysis and make and act on recommendations for profit improvement.
  10. Potential: analyze, push, use market segment know-how and update customer- and market potential
  11. Prospect: make sure top customers of segments regionally are tracked in the systems; push conversion of top prospects to customers with sales
  12. Territory management: support sales in developing optimal resource allocation
  13. Develop relationships with key customers pushing lead development
  14. Collaborate with Application and BU to ensure rapid and effective stage gate development of market segment initiatives.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary on occasion depending on work load.

Travel
Less than 20%

Required Qualifications

  1. Graduate  in Business Administration
  2. 5+ years of professional experience in marketing and/or category management
  3. Beverage category management or marketing experience, Alcohol experience a plus
  4. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  5. Excellent verbal and written skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Ability to understand and interact with CRM
  2. Strong presentation and PPT skills
