Role Overview

As a Data Scientist in Döhler's AI team, you will bridge cutting-edge machine learning techniques and agentic AI solutions to deliver impactful business applications. The role encompasses two primary streams: (1) developing and optimizing machine learning models with internal complex data, and (2) building agentic AI solutions using foundation models and software engineering practices. The ideal candidate combines expertise in data science, and software engineering with foundational skills in cloud computing and architecture.

Your Role

• Design, develop, and optimize supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, including feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, and advanced performance-tuning techniques
• Apply statistical and mathematical optimization methods to solve complex, data-driven business and optimization problems
• Design and implement agentic AI solutions based on state-of-the-art foundation models, including experimentation, fine-tuning, and adaptation to domain-specific use cases such as generative AI and autonomous systems
• Integrate, deploy, and operate AI models within enterprise environments by developing APIs and collaborating with software engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable production solutions
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based machine learning pipelines and AI infrastructure using cloud-native tools
• Research, prototype, and validate emerging AI/ML algorithms and methodologies to drive innovation and support strategic business objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to define problem statements and deliver value-driven solutions

Your Profile

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable quantitative field
• Strong experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis using Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
• Hands-on experience with common ML frameworks and model training, including fine-tuning of complex models
• Practical exposure to foundation models, generative AI, or agentic systems, with strong interest in modern AI architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps concepts for scalable development and production deployment
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex problems into data-driven solutions
• Collaborative working style with experience in cross-functional teams
