We are seeking an ambitious, hands-on Product Developer to shape the next generation of our Specialty Ingredients and innovative Dry Systems. In this role, you will spearhead formulation design and shape final product characteristics - engineering maximum functionality, stability, and sensory performance for global manufacturers. From lab-scale development to final process engineering execution, you will create cutting-edge B2B ingredient solutions, delivering everything from advanced powders to complex granules and customized shapes. Bridging product design and industrial execution, you will leverage our core technologies - spray, freeze, and vacuum belt drying - to deliver superior performance across global food applications and beyond.

 

The Role

  • Innovative Product Development: Take ownership of developing new recipes and adapting formulations for industrial dry systems. You will ensure they are optimized for processability, stability, and specific functionality - perfectly balancing physical attributes (e.g., solubility, particle structure, shape dimensions) with outstanding sensory performance (e.g., texture, mouthfeel). 
  • B2B Project Management: Act as a co-project owner in innovation and customer projects, translating client briefs into technical solutions and leading technical discussions with global B2B customers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate especially closely with Application teams to ensure your developed ingredient solutions deliver a perfect technical fit for the final end-use, while also aligning with stakeholders like Business Units, Market Segments, Sales, Production and Quality.
  • Process Optimization & Scale-Up Support: Optimize process parameters and contribute to the design of production processes for drying, granulation, and shaping. Support the technical transfer from laboratory and pilot plant trials to global industrial production, collaborating closely with Supply Chain to help resolve process-related challenges like stickiness or yield loss.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement & Data Governance: Actively contribute to R&D digitalization initiatives, optimize system-based workflows, and ensure smooth operational data governance by maintaining recipes, product data, and raw material attributes within SAP system.

 

The Profil

  • Successfully completed studies in Food Technology, Food Science, Beverage Technology, Food Chemistry, or a comparable scientific field.  
  • You are either an ambitious mid-level professional with initial practical experience in product/process development within the food or B2B ingredients industry, or a highly adaptable academic ready to transition into the industry.  
  • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of formulation design and broad processing technologies (from liquid preparation to final dry matrices), with a clear technical focus on advanced drying technologies - specifically spray drying, freeze drying, and vacuum belt drying.
  • A hands-on, structured, and solution-oriented mindset with excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to master complex matrices quickly.  
  •  An ownership-minded team player with a genuine passion for innovative food products and technologies, combined with the communication skills to confidently navigate cross-functional interfaces and drive projects forward.
  • English is mandatory (fluent written and spoken). German is a strong plus to facilitate cross-plant communication.
