Your Role

• Serve as a global, strategic subject matter expert on customs and excise tax matters and ensure worldwide compliance with legal requirements  
• Develop and publish global guidelines on excise tax treatment 
• Initiate and lead strategic projects aimed at accurate and automated customs clearance- particularly in the context of cross-border shipments and special tax regulations
• Responsibility for the global implementation and further development of systems with a focus on excise tax processes and customs compliance
• Management of global customs and tax functions, as well as the development and establishment of uniform standards 
• Continuous optimization of system processes to ensure customs compliance
• Analysis of company- wide processes regarding their relevance to excise tax and development of measures to minimize risk and increase efficiency
•  Design and implementation of training programs to empower international teams in the application of global guidelines
• Close collaboration with associations and internal stakeholders to identify regulatory developments at an early stage and incorporate them strategically

Your Profile

• Substantial professional experience in a legal, logistics, or manufacturing environment—ideally within a highly regulated industry
• In-depth knowledge of excise tax law and customs law, or a willingness to learn these complex topics
• Experience in global project management and a proven track record of handling cross-location issues
• A strategic, proactive, and analytical approach to work, combined with experience in process management and in the development and enforcement of global policies
• Strong communication skills in German and English, as well as the ability to provide technical leadership and empower international teams
