About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Sourcing Manager (m/f/d) – Focus Packaging to lead the development and execution of our global packaging sourcing strategy. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and managing packaging suppliers worldwide to ensure the best combination of quality, cost, innovation, sustainability, and supply reliability. In addition, the focus is on the further development and digitalization of processes in order to meet the demands of a global procurement environment.

 

Your Role

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for packaging materials, including primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing strategic partners.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, contracts, service agreements, and long-term supply arrangements.
  • Analyze global market trends, raw material developments, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality, performance, and service standards.
  • Collaborate with Packaging Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support
  • Lead supplier performance management through KPIs, scorecards, audits, and business reviews.
  • Support sustainability objectives by sourcing environmentally responsible packaging solutions and reducing packaging-related environmental impact.
  • Manage supplier risk assessments, business continuity planning, and supply chain resilience initiatives.
  • Build and maintain market intelligence on packaging technologies, materials, and supplier landscapes across global markets.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Packaging Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with significant experience in packaging procurement.
  • Experience sourcing packaging materials such as packaging, rigid plastics, glass, labels, cartons, and related components.
  • Proven track record of supplier negotiations and delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Strong understanding of global supply markets, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing abilities.
