Your Role:

  • Drive Innovation: Conduct fermentation trials and expertly handle microorganisms for essential quality tests.
  • Process Development & Pilot Operations: Support the development and execution of biosynthesis processes at laboratory and pilot scales. You will actively operate bioreactors (up to 1000L) and be hands-on in both Upstream (USP) and Downstream Processing (DSP), including techniques like filtration and chromatography.
  • Operational Excellence & Hygiene: You take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and highly organized laboratory environment. This includes the physical, hands-on work required for the setup, operation, and thorough cleaning of bioreactors and DSP equipment to guarantee uncompromising hygiene standards.
  • Manage Resources: Maintain and oversee the Döhler strain collection for our ongoing innovation projects.
  • Trial Execution & Validation: Organize, execute, and assist in the validation of these biosynthesis trials.
  • Quality Assurance: Produce starter cultures for our production plants, ensuring all quality specifications are strictly met.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Support: Take responsibility for maintaining lab and pilot scale equipment for optimal functionality, manage inventory, and procure raw materials to ensure seamless daily operations.

 

Your Profile:

  • Education & Production Background: You have a strong background in a production environment (e.g., food, beverages, brewing, wine, or pharma) and have completed relevant vocational training (such as Brewer/Maltster, Food Technology Specialist, Dairy Technologist, Pharmaceutical Technician, or BTA/CTA with production experience).
  • Lab & Analytical Skills: Alongside your hands-on production expertise, you have solid practical experience in laboratory work and performing analytical tests to ensure quality standards.
  • Hands-on Mentality: You are physically resilient, comfortable with the active tasks required to operate a pilot plant, and take a proactive approach to equipment setup and cleaning.
  • Working Style: Your colleagues appreciate your responsible, highly organized, and precise approach to both your practical work and documentation.
  • Resilience: You keep a cool head in stressful situations and adapt flexibly to changing operational needs.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and confident handling of common MS Office applications enrich your profile.
  • Languages: You possess excellent German skills and ideally a good working knowledge of English.
