The Role:
- Process Development & Pilot Operations: Support the development and execution of biosynthesis processes at laboratory and pilot scales. You will actively assist in operating bioreactors (up to 1000L) and be hands-on in both Upstream (USP) and Downstream Processing (DSP), including techniques like filtration and chromatography.
- Trial Execution & Validation: Organize, execute, and assist in the validation of these biosynthesis trials.
- Drive Innovation: Conduct fermentation trials and expertly handle microorganisms for essential quality tests.
- Manage Resources: Maintain and oversee the Döhler strain collection for our ongoing innovation projects.
- Quality Assurance: Produce starter cultures for our production plants, ensuring all quality specifications are strictly met.
- Equipment Maintenance: Take responsibility for maintaining lab and pilot scale equipment, guaranteeing optimal functionality and strict adherence to biotechnological quality standards.
- Operational Support: Manage inventory and procure raw materials and lab supplies to ensure seamless daily operations.
The Profile:
- You have completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician, CTA, or a comparable qualification, ideally combined with 1-3 years of professional experience in biotechnology.
- Practical experience in production environments, particularly within similar fields such as the food or pharmaceutical industry, is highly advantageous.
- Your colleagues appreciate your responsible, highly organized, and precise approach to both your work and your documentation.
- You keep a cool head in stressful situations and adapt flexibly to changing operational needs.
- Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and confident handling of common MS Office applications enrich your profile.
- You possess excellent German skills and ideally a good working knowledge of English.
