As Team Lead Microsoft Azure & Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (m/f/d) at our Darmstadt headquarters, you will take ownership of the reliable, secure, and scalable operation of our modern hybrid cloud infrastructure. Your role will focus on the operation, further development, and standardization of Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud architectures, and the seamless integration of our on-premises data centers into a future-ready hybrid operating model. You will ensure that our Azure and data center environments are run in a stable, secure, automated, and cost-efficient way. In this role, you will combine technological excellence with strong leadership, a service-oriented mindset, and a clear focus on governance, security, and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities

Ensure the stable, secure, and scalable operation of our Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, and connected on-premises environments

Further develop our Azure platform strategy in close collaboration with IT Architecture, IT Security, and relevant stakeholders

Manage and optimize core Azure services, including Landing Zones, networking, identity and access management, governance, and monitoring

Ensure the seamless integration of Azure with on-premises infrastructure, particularly across networking, security, backup, and operational processes

Establish and evolve standards for governance, security controls, automation, and FinOps, for example through Infrastructure as Code, self-service models, and standardized platform blueprints

Plan and coordinate patching, lifecycle, and modernization initiatives for cloud and data center services

Further develop an effective operating model for hybrid environments, including monitoring, incident, change, and availability management

Ensure robust backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities for cloud and on-premises workloads

Lead and develop the team both functionally and disciplinarily, while overseeing external partners, resources, budgets, and service quality
Your profile
-
Several years of experience in a leadership role within Microsoft Azure, Cloud Operations, Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, or IT infrastructure operations

Strong expertise in operating and further developing Microsoft Azure platforms and hybrid cloud operating models

Solid experience with key Azure domains, including Landing Zones, governance, networking, identity management, security, monitoring, and FinOps

Good understanding of the integration of Azure with on-premises infrastructures, particularly across networking, Active Directory / Entra ID, backup, monitoring, and security

Experience in operating data center and platform services, including compute, storage, virtualization, networking, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability

Practical experience with ITSM processes, such as incident, problem, change, capacity, and availability management, ideally in line with ITIL-based standards

Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code, for example using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, PowerShell, or similar technologies

Good understanding of cloud security, compliance, governance, cost optimization, and operational risk mitigation in hybrid environments

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, as well as experience in managing external service providers

Very good German and English language skills, combined with a degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification
