 Production Scale-up Engineer


Expectations and Accountability of Job
Testing new products and technologies to ensure a stable and fast production process when implemented in the factories. 
The overall responsibility is to successfully transition and optimize small-scale product formulations and processes to larger 
commercial production volumes while maintaining product quality, safety, and consistency. Testing new products and

• Implement and ensure optimal information exchange in the area of responsibility and with the interfaces.
• Continuously standardizing and optimizing processes and organizational structures and initiating corresponding 
measures.
• Contributing ideas and implementing the digital transformation in the area of responsibility. Coordinating and 
implementing digitization projects in cooperation with the interfaces. Optimizing and mapping new and existing 
business processes in the digital databases and systems.
• Plan human, material and financial resources. Adherence to the approved budget and initiation of appropriate 
measures in the event of threatened and identified deviations in coordination with the manager.
• Review and comply with legal requirements and internal regulations, initiate appropriate action.
• Implementing and ensuring efficient and effective processes in the company's internal IT systems and their 
documentation.

Job Profile-specific Building Blocks
• Evaluate and adapt laboratory-scale formulations for large-scale production.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure the consistency and quality of scaled-up products.
• Analyze and optimize processing parameters to achieve desired product attributes.
• Coordinate with production teams to implement and troubleshoot new processes.
• Source and test equipment that meets the needs of scaled-up production.
• Address and mitigate challenges related to ingredient sourcing, availability, and cost at higher volumes.
• Monitor pilot runs, ensuring the production process is efficient and product quality is maintained.
• Review and adjust standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with scaled-up production.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations throughout the scale-up process.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement testing and monitoring protocols for scaled-up products.
• Training des Teams bezüglich Überwachung der CCPs/ oPRPs und Verifizierung der Ergebnisse, wenn anwendbar 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science/Food Processing or a relevant major
  • 3-5 years of experience as Scale-Up Engineer, preferably food manufacturing background
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
