Your Role

As a Manager Data Governance, you will shape and operationalize Data Governance for our SAP-driven data objects and business processes. Your primary focus will be on master and reference data within the Supply Chain Management and Commercial domains, particularly Material, Customer, Supplier, and Business Partner data.

You will combine strong SAP consulting expertise with hands-on project and workstream management. Acting as a key interface between business functions, Process Owners, Data Owners, Data Stewards, IT, SAP teams, and external partners, you will translate business requirements into robust data standards, governance processes, and scalable system solutions.

You will take end-to-end ownership of defined data domains, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives—from analysis and solution design through testing and implementation to rollout, stabilization, and successful transition into operations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate projects and workstreams in the areas of Data Governance, Master Data Management, SAP MDG, Data Quality, and Data Integration
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional concepts, user stories, and implementable solutions
  • Advise business stakeholders on designing standardized, efficient, and scalable data and business processes
  • Define and further develop Data Governance standards, roles, business rules, and approval processes
  • Manage key SAP master data domains (e.g., Material, Customer, Supplier, Business Partner) and contribute to SAP S/4HANA, SAP MDG, MM, and SD solutions
  • Plan, coordinate, and support testing, rollouts, hypercare activities, and the successful transition into business-as-usual operations
  • Ensure high data quality through root cause analysis, KPI definition, and the coordination of sustainable corrective and preventive actions
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborate closely with business functions, IT, Process Owners, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and external partners
  • Enhance data catalogs, business glossaries, metadata management, and governance documentation
  • Contribute to global SAP, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives while ensuring scalable, architecture-aligned data solutions

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in SAP Consulting, Master Data Management, Data Governance, SAP MDG, or Business Process Management
  • Strong expertise in SAP MM and/or SAP SD, with hands-on experience managing SAP master data and end-to-end business processes (e.g., Source-to-Pay or Order-to-Cash)
  • Experience leading or coordinating SAP-related projects and working at the interface between business and IT
  • Solid understanding of Data Governance principles, Data Quality Management, and the translation of business requirements into technical solutions
  • Technical understanding of SAP data models, interfaces, workflows, and customizing; experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG is an advantage
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and IT teams
  • Structured, analytical, and self-driven working style with a strong focus on execution and continuous improvement
  • Experience working in international matrix organizations and excellent English skills; German language skills are a plus
  • Familiarity with Celonis, Power BI, SAP BW, Databricks, data catalogs, or data quality tools is considered an advantage
