The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for electrical and mechanical servicing and maintenance of production machinery and equipment, utilities, plant, and grounds. Safely, effectively and efficiently diagnose, test, repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial production and processing facility, machinery and equipment.

Your Responsibilities
1. Work safely and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as trained.
2. Cooperate, coordinate, and communicate with all team members to efficiently complete work.
3. Arrive to work on time and at times, work flexible schedule to come in early and stay late as needed.
4. Perform maintenance, repair, and installation work on equipment, machinery, and facilities including pneumatic and some hydraulic equipment.
5. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
6. Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
7. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment including sheet metal, pipe sections, fittings, or plumbing fixtures.
8. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs and reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
9. Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
10. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
11. Record repairs and maintenance performed including parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
12. Operate and maintain steam boiler, refrigeration systems, electrical and compressed gases, and water.
13. Calibrate or adjust electronic equipment or instruments to specification and enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
14. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
15. Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
16. Ensure discipline, cleanliness, and safety while performing work by complying with safety rules and HAACP procedures.
17. Operate forklift safely and efficiently to lift and move product, containers, or machinery.

19. Various other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Your Profile:
• Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Performing routine maintenance and welding skills on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Electrical skills and may require PLC instrumentation, programming, and troubleshooting and software skills.
• Sanitary welding
High school diploma, GED or equivalent; and 12 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and job related experience. Prefer associates degree from a technical college. Successful completion of BBCC maintenance course or similar training.
