The Sensory Science Intern will support daily sensory panel operations while leading a defined project focused on optimizing the New Panelist Training program at the Princeton site. This role provides hands-on experience in sensory science, program evaluation, and process improvement while contributing to Doehler’s global sensory standards.
New Panelist Training Program Review & Optimization
· Lead a comprehensive review of the current New Panelist Training program to assess content, structure, and execution.
· Identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities to streamline the program while ensuring alignment with Doehler’s global panelist training standards.
· Pilot proposed improvements to training materials and execution.
· Develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for New Panelist Training.
· Support implementation of the optimized training program at the Princeton site.
Your Responsibilities
· Support execution of daily sensory panel operations, including cup labeling, test execution and cleanup, and data entry as needed.
· Prepare sensory references and simple solutions for descriptive analysis and training purposes.
· Support New Panelist Training sessions and general panelist recruitment efforts.
· Maintain sensory lab cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory to ensure daily operational readiness.
Your Profile:
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Psychology, or a related field.
· Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Ability to take direction while also working independently when needed.
· General laboratory experience or exposure preferred.
