JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary/Objective

The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring inventory control and documentation while complying with all company processes/policies; ensure the timely delivery of materials/product to the proper departments. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Picks orders from inventory.
  2. Unloads, moves and stores materials.
  3. Utilizes manual lifts, reach trucks and transfer equipment.
  4. Stores and stacks materials according to company standards.
  5. Removes damaged materials from stock.
  6. Operates RF scanners and other hand-held devices.
  7. Maintains records of all outgoing and incoming shipments to and from the warehouse.
  8. Prepares shipping documents and labels while ensuring that all orders and withdrawal requests from the warehouse are correctly fulfilled.
  9. Prepares production orders in full and accurately.
  10. Consolidate shipping orders.
  11. Ensures that the goods delivered to the warehouse are in accordance with approved purchase orders, associated bill of lading or invoice.
  12. Conducts cyclic inventories and ensures inventory accuracy.
  13. Performs the unloading of deliveries and distributes contents to the correct warehouse locations.
  14. Accomplishes daily goods movement flow and follows company processes.
  15. Maintains the automated inventory management system to ensure that actual physical inventory matches the database perpetual inventory.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. On very seldom occasions you may be asked to lift up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days can vary depending on production schedule.

 

Travel
Less than 10%

 

Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. 3+ years’ experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse
  3. Forklift certification

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. SAP experience
