JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Production Operator is responsible for achieving production and quality requirements within a defined time-frame, from preparation to filling, while remaining compliant with hygiene, HACCP and work safety guideline.
Essential Functions

1. Operates production machines by means of automatic/manual controls, and adjusts production equipment to product-specific parameters according to the daily production plan and the observance of time parameters.
2. Processes raw and semi-finished products according to the recipe, manufacturing and operating instructions for all departments.
3. Takes samples and conducts quality controls, forwarding the results to Quality as needed.
4. Fills finished products into appropriate packaging.
5. Initiates and controls repairs, maintenance and modifications of machines in close coordination with the supervisor and maintenance department.
6. Records all data as required (i.e. charts, necessary process adjustments based on data findings, etc.).
7. Performs CIP/COP and general sanitation as needed.
8. Implements the internal and legal specifications and guidelines concerning hygiene, HACCP, food and work safety and environmental protection.
9. Informs Supervisor and Manager on issues or immediate needs that may impact the department.
10. Adheres to GMPs within appropriate zones.
11. Interacts with and inputs data into SAP.
12. Performs general sanitation duties.
13. Assists in other areas of production as needed.
14. Performs LOTO procedures when needed.
15. Interacts with and follows instructions provided on PI sheet.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days can vary depending on production schedule.

Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma
2. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing / production environment
4. Must be able to read and follow a production schedule
Preferred Qualifications
1. SAP experience
2. Working knowledge of food & beverage production or related processes
3. Ability to read and understand PI sheets (inspection sheets)
4. Experience with dairy processing, bottling, and package equipment
