JOB DESCRIPTION 
Summary/Objective  

The Key Account Manager, Ingredient Industry maintains and expands relationships with large multinational and regional customers of the ingredient industry. Assigned to multiple customers, the Key Account Manager is responsible for achieving revenue, margin, and assigned strategic account objectives. The Key Account Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers; leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring customers' needs and expectations are met by the company, and developing unique ways to grow the business with customers and provide solutions to management in the face of challenges.

  • Create, maintain, and grow customer relationships to ensure attainment of company goals
  • Work with customers of the ingredient industry to add value and innovation to their portfolios using Döhler´s natural raw materials and ingredients
  • Use company CRM tools to ensure visibility on projects and customers internally
  • Execute the annual sales planning process and maintain customer forecasts
  • Develop and implement sales initiatives that successfully execute business unit initiatives
  • Support assigned customers in the best possible way by establishing professional relationship management with the respective decision-makers and influencers of each customer
  • Proactively and continuously evaluate, coordinate, and validate customer requirements in order to enhance customer loyalty and increase customer value
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional team members to ensure alignment on company and customer goals
  • Implement the operative targets (e.g. portfolio business, new business, competitor share, new business fields) for the area of responsibility, taking long-term strategic corporate targets into account, creating account development plans for defined customers, executing against them and updating them regularly
  • Attain the sales, volume and profit targets as well as introduce suitable measures to counteract potential and actual deviations in consultation with sales leadership
  • Manage all customer opportunities, aligning with cross-functional team members to deliver all needed info and deliverables meeting customer expectations
  • Ensure that any customer requests are managed through the organization appropriately and responded to in a timely and accurate way

Work Environment 

This is a remote position requiring reasonable travel to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and internal training/strategy meetings when necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 
This is a full-time, salaried position with base salary + bonus potential.

 

Travel 
As required, estimated at 30% - 50%

 

Required Qualifications 

  • College degree
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the ingredient industry
  • Experience working with flavor and fragrance houses, color houses, general taste and solution providers for food and beverage applications
  • Wide network within the ingredient industry (sourcing teams, decision makers, etc.)
  • Knowledge about several natural ingredients categories, including citrus oils, fruit essences, botanicals, coffee & tea ingredients, juices, and natural colors

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • CRM and SAP experience
