Inventory Control Specialist

We are actively seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Cartersville, GA.  The Inventory Control Specialist is an essential position in implementing and monitoring procedures to ensure that the proper inventory is correct in all warehouse locations. This position will assist management in the development and implementation of a formal program to audit all areas related to inventory movement for integrity and accuracy. This individual will lead the cycle counts in a program to identify and eliminate any problems found in daily cycle counts. 

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Cycle Counting, Inventory Accuracy and Warehouse Organization
  • Team leader for Cycle Counting Team, responsible for scheduling and organizing cycle counts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. 
  • Perform and reconcile physical counts with perpetual inventory system. Update system in an accurate and timely manner. Document count results and discrepancies for analysis and reporting purposes. 
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the annual physical inventory, including reconciling the beginning and ending balances with the system and supporting any third-party audit requests.
  • Monitor Third Party inventory reports and reconcile balances with perpetual inventory system.
  • Identify slow moving, obsolete and damaged materials and work cross-functionally to remove materials from the system.
  • Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy.
  • Responsible for reporting cycle count results and overall inventory accuracy in accordance with stated KPI's for internal reporting purposes and to external customers, as required
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to management.
  • Prepare periodic reports for customer supplied materials or floor stocks, as directed
  • Analyze cycle count discrepancies for root cause. Work with internal team and cross-functionally to develop, recommend and implement solutions to address the underlying issues
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Maintain neat, clean, and orderly warehouse appearance.
  • Ability to work extended hours/over-time as needed including Saturdays.


Your Profile:  

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Inventory Control, Warehouse Operations and/or Supply Chain Logistics
  • Minimum 1 year experience with SAP ERP systems, with emphasis on WM/M
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data mining and data manipulation to perform analyses and problem-solving using spreadsheet analyses.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate results both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, including Power Point and Excel VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. 
  • Experience with Tableau or Celonis is a plus

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid, and cold temperatures.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
