The  Senior Application Developer, Food Services  is responsible for processing development and Innovation projects as well as B2C Portfolios within the Food Service Market Segment in the best possible way.

  • Leading, assessing and developing directly subordinate employees in a professional and disciplinary capacity. Determining individual personnel measures in consultation with HR. 
  • Adhering to the approved budget and introducing suitable measures to counteract potential and actual deviations in consultation with the line manager. 
  • Continuously standardising and optimising processes and organisational structures and initiating corresponding measures. 
  • Implementing and ensuring an optimum exchange of information within the division and with the interfaces. 
  • Implementing and ensuring efficient and effective processes in the company's internal IT systems and their documentation. 
  • Contribution and realization of ideas for the digital transformation in the area of responsibility. Aligment and realization of digitization projects in cooperation with the stakeholders. Optimization and documentation of new and existing business processes in the digital data bases and systems. 
  • Ensuring the development of new recipes for customer and innovation projects and matching products, and the further development of existing recipes. 
  • Ensuring that recipes are created and maintained in SAP. 
  • Ensuring the maintenance of product-specific substance data in SAP. 
  • Optimising the recipe portfolio in terms of cost structure, resource use and quality in collaboration with Recipe Management. 
  • Ensuring the correct and punctual execution of laboratory mixtures and the creation of product samples. 
  • Ensuring correct coordination and collaboration with the Sampling Lab and Pilot Plant for the production of appropriate customer samples. 
  • Ensuring tasting for products developed. 
  • Implementing specifications for conducting diverse tests on product shelf life and changes, and adapting these guidelines to the respective B2C Group if necessary. 
  • Discussing with and supporting the Technical Account Manager on customer-specific circumstances, recipe formulation and filling technology. 
  • Collaborating with technical project managers and Sales (discussing briefings, clarifying questions usually for DO processes, tasting, evaluating samples, selecting samples). 
  • Participating in customer workshops in collaboration with Product Management, Technical Project Management and Sales; arranging for samples to be produced and independently preparing and customizing customer samples during the workshop. 
  • Ensuring that production recipes, process parameters, the test plan and approval of the new recipe are checked. 
  • Evaluating and conducting measures assigned by Quality and corrective action. 
  • Implementing in-house and statutory specifications and guidelines on hygiene, HACCP, food safety, occupational safety and environmental protection. Ensuring that these are implemented in subordinate organisational units. \

Supervisory Responsibility


Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary on occasion depending on work load.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science or other related field
  2. SAP experience
  3. 2-5 years’ experience in food & beverage development
  4. Experience in Food and Beverage Development within the Food Service category
  5. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Advanced education/degree desirable
